The patio house - inside the "Neve Tzedek" neighborhood

Patio House – inside the historic ‘Neve Tzedek’ neighborhood of Tel Aviv, The architect Meirav Galan renovated a residential house from the 19th century to “people” a big family of 6 souls.
The renovation included the meticulous restoration of the old building, including an expansion of the building, and as a result an urban designed spacious with a garden patio that was added recently.
The house was one of the first buildings that were built in the picturesque neighborhood in the late nineteenth century and originally was created as a one floor residence with a flat roof. During the 1930’s the apartment was expanded and redesigned architecturally, a second floor was added with a slate roof, gallery balcony and exterior stairs. But throughout the passage of time the building was neglected.
“In my first visit in the house, under all the negligence, I could feel the European magic mixed with the smell of the local Mediterranean Sea” described Arc’ Meirav Galan. “ I found high impressive ceilings, classic European doors and windows, detailed iron railings and a beautiful Mediterranean balcony with a Parisian touch. I imagined myself reviving the story and fit in the dreams of my clients.”
