26 Sheinkin

The building in 26 Shenkin st. Was built in 1935 in an international style that was typical to residence and trade in this time.

In the year of 1945 a gallery was added to the trade floor and a one room apartment was added on the roof. In 1946 a “porcelain vessel kiosk” was added to the facade of the building.

The special emphasis on the balconies was a dominant element in the design of the standard residential buildings in the same time.

The building’s meaning come from it’s being part of the typical texture to Sheinkin street and Merkaz Baalei Melacha that boldly mixed the use of craft and trade in the ground floor and residential floors in the higher ones.
